    Default CR0451 EDS File

Is there an EDS file available for the CR0451 to be used as a slave?

There is not one currently. You could just open the template for the CR0451_Slave then go to the PLC Configuration, click on CanSlave_Device, then the Base Setting tab and have Codesys create an EDS file for you.

It would be much easier to use network variables. You don't need to add as a slave but can still do checks in your code (monitor a sent bit from each) to see if the connection is ok.

I am using network variables. I was under the impression that I needed to add the display as a slave in order to be able to have it in the network. What template should I use for the display if I wasn't adding it as a slave to the master?

    I would use the:
    ifm_Template_CR0451Layer2_V010001_02
and layer 2 for which ever controller you are using. Much less overhead if you are not actually using the CANOpen functions.
